Why would I want to spend money on coaching?
The good news is that you don’t have to spend money on coaching. There are several good books that are excellent for the active trader. Check out Mark Douglas and Brett Steenbarger (The Daily Trading Coach). I give a copy of the latter to all my clients.
One of my precepts (see my blog for a full list) is that you have all the resources you need, although some may be out of your awareness. It is hard to change your “map” of the markets when your map is part of your reality. Coaching can help shift critical perceptions that make a significant difference in trading profits.
Can I engage a coach even if I am on the other side of the world?
This is why God created Skype. Yes, Skype with video is very effective for coaching communication. We have clients in all parts of the world and in many times zones.
Can you help me devise a profitable trading strategy?
We are in the business of giving you the behavioral tools to create, refine and execute your own trading strategy. Our clients trade using a wide range of strategies from fundamental analysis to standard technical indicators to creative pattern recognition processes. Our job is to support your ability to create distinction for setups, create consistent triggers and executions and manage your profits and risk.
How does your coaching program work?
First, I talk with all traders to make sure that our work together has the potential of making a significant difference. This is a free mutual interview for us to get to know one another. If we decide to continue our work together, we set up an Introductory Analysis. This consists of a series of brief online tests, a trading survey and a personal interview. I then take all this information and issue a detailed written report of the areas that will produce the biggest profit improvements. We then discuss the findings.
If we agree to continue our progress, most traders will purchase a 10 hour package that works with existing myths, fears and mind traps and then creates exercises that build constructive Mind Muscles™.
I have a trading strategy that worked for nine months, now is consistently losing money. I thought I had found the secret of the markets! Can you help me?
All trading strategies work in some markets at some times. All trading strategies eventually fail. (The law of free lunches). Our clients develop the ability to see the markets as they are and apply different strategies at different times. The critical piece is to maintain personal freedom from depending on winning trades or any strategy for your self-esteem. This is where our coaching shifts the framework to produce higher confidence levels in your process, as versus a trading idea or strategy.
