Negative Sentiment Surrounding Politics Varies By Social Media Platform, Our Analysis Shows

How favorably a political party or affiliation ranks in social media sentiment depends on the “political reputation” of the social media platform, it appears. 

Using our MarketPsych MCP Radar connector with Claude, we created a chart analyzing the negative sentiment towards Democratic/liberal political parties vs. Republican/conservative political parties.

Right-coded term scored 0.11 better on X. On Reddit, left-coded terms scored 0.02 better. Liberal sentiment terms shown blue, and conservative sentiment terms shown in red.

The chart shows that liberal politics is viewed far more unfavorably on X than it is on Reddit. The inverse is true, in contrast, for conservative politics, which are viewed far more unfavorably on Reddit than on X.
